The Strategy
In Spring 2025, we partnered with Solomon & Fifth Street Partners, LLC, to transform the Parc at Solomon development into a cultural beacon for the local community. Our collaboration centered on integrating public art into the environment through murals, sculptures, and bespoke installations, bringing together local and regional artists to create a dynamic space that celebrates creativity and community. Foley Design is also proud to be a part of this transformative workforce housing project located in the heart of downtown Griffin.
The Challenge
The challenge was to infuse the Parc at Solomon with distinctive, high-quality art pieces that reflected the vibrancy and diversity of the surrounding community. Our goal was to curate a collection of works that bridged art, business, and public space, while promoting local culture and offering an inclusive platform for regional artists to showcase their talent. The workforce housing aspect of Parc Solomon adds another layer to the community impact, providing affordable homes in a prime location.
We Delivered
Community Engagement:
- Conducted an open call for artists, reviewing submissions based on artistic excellence and community relevance.
- Curated a diverse roster of artists to ensure balanced representation of various art forms, including murals, sculptures, and mixed-media works.
- Facilitated stakeholder reviews, ensuring community input was central to the selection process.
Art and Experience Design:
- Oversaw the creation of murals, sculptures, countertop pieces, and custom wallpaper designs, strategically placed throughout the space to foster an immersive experience.
- Enhanced the overall design of Parc at Solomon, seamlessly blending public art with the architectural vision of the space.
Innovative Business Approach:
- Integrated public art within a commercial development, demonstrating the potential for art to serve as both a cultural and economic asset.
- Developed a comprehensive project management strategy, ensuring that all elements—design, fabrication, installation—were completed on time and within budget.
